articlebr/In a switch from previous years, UPS Inc. will not forecast a peak day for holiday shipping this year because the slowing U.S. economy is making such a prediction too difficult, Bloomberg reported Monday. UPS' peak volume had been scheduled for release Tuesday. The company began giving holiday volume projections in the 1980s, and after its 1999 initial public offering scaled back to project just a peak shipping day near Christmas, Bloomberg reported.
