Show Update - 3/12/2020

It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Mid-America Trucking Show scheduled for March 26-28 in Louisville, KY.

This is a decision we did not make lightly, but in consultation with our exhibitors, attendees, supporters, and partners, including Kentucky Venues, Louisville Tourism, Kentucky Governor’s Office, and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Families Services.

In light of today’s extraordinary circumstances and with an abundance of caution, this decision has been made with the health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, employees, and show partners in mind.

MATS has a proud tradition as the largest and most well-attended show in heavy-duty trucking. We will return stronger than ever in 2021 and will focus on an unforgettable 50th-anniversary event – March 25-27, 2021 in Louisville, KY.

Updated - 3/2/2020

With concerns around COVID-19 Coronavirus, we want to share with our exhibitors and attendees the steps we are taking to prepare for the 49th Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, March 26-28th.

We want to assure everyone associated with MATS that:

  • We are focused on the health and safety of all attendees, exhibitors, vendors, staff and others involved in the show.
  • We will proceed as planned with the 49th annual MATS and will make every effort to ensure a safe and successful show.
  • We will do everything we can to keep attendees and exhibitors informed and aware of any change in plans as regards the Covid-19 situation.
  • We are actively monitoring the situation and will respond quickly to any significant developments that may arise in the next few weeks

We encourage all of our participants to take the necessary precautions to avoid the spread of the virus and avoid show if they are sick. Attendees and exhibitors with questions or concerns are encouraged to email our staff at

Rest assured we will make every effort to ensure a safe and successful show and will remain committed to the health and safety of all of our MATS participants and attendees. We will continue to monitor the spread of the virus as it develops and will take whatever measures are necessary to ensure the safety of our participants and our community.

What is Exhibit Management doing to prepare for MATS as regards COVID-19?

We are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with the state and city to prepare in the best possible way for any scenario that may develop regarding COVID-19. We will be continually assessing the potential risks and will make any necessary adjustments should circumstances change.

At present the CDC considers the immediate health risk from COVID-19 to be low. We will continue to monitor the position of the CDC and follow the precautions and guidelines they lay out leading up to the show.

Additionally, we are working with the Kentucky Exposition Center to closely monitor the facility for cleanliness and implementing additional disinfectant schedules for public surfaces such as railings, door handles, restrooms, etc. We will have more hand sanitization stations available in high traffic areas and will encourage everyone in attendance to use them often.

We advise everyone who will be at MATS to follow the recommended safety precautions to prevent the spread of all respiratory viruses:

  • Washing hands regularly with soap and water
  • Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick to reduce the risk of infection from any type of virus
  • Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough

Has MATS been impacted by Covid-19?

Some of our international exhibitors have been impacted by COVID-19, due to travel restrictions and the spread of the virus in China and South Korea. The expected cancellations of China-based exhibitors and attendees will have limited impact on the show, representing less than 5% of the exhibiting companies less than 2% of MATS attendance.

If someone presents with flu-like symptoms at the show?

The Kentucky Exposition Center will have first aid providers on-site during all set-up and show hours to provide medical assistance on-site.

We advise and request that all participants during the show:

  • Regularly clean hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub
  • Cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or fixed elbow
  • Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms

Can I be refunded if I choose not to attend?

Our attendee show rules and regulations state that we do not offer refunds for badge fees. We will consider adjusting our policy only in the cases in which attendees and/or exhibitors are prevented from travel by quarantine or travel ban.

What are you doing to prevent those from high-risk areas from attending MATS?

The initial travel ban from China has restricted China-based individuals from attending the shows. In addition, the ongoing quarantines from other countries, including Italy, Japan, Korea, have also restricted individuals from attending the shows.

We encourage everyone to make responsible decisions and to avoid travel if they are coming from high-risk areas or think they may have contracted the virus.
